PANEER CHILLI CIGARS

Paneer chilli cigars is an easy but irresistible snack, made by rolling a succulent paneer mixture into samosa patties, and deep-frying the cigar-shaped rolls.

These chilli paneer cigars are a perfect starter for any party – be it a kids’ get together or women’s kitty party. The paneer chilli cigars are handily sized, and look very appetizing too, making them perfect to serve at cocktail parties too. Everyone is sure to relish it. 

The use of chilli-garlic sauce and spring onions to flavour the stuffing of paneer chilli cigars gives it an unmistakable Chinese touch.

🔷 Ingredients

🔷 For The Filling

• 3/4 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese)

• 1 tbsp chilli garlic sauce

• 2 tsp Mayur oil

• 1/4 cup finely chopped spring onions

• 1/4 cup grated processed cheese

• salt to taste

🔷 Other Ingredients For Paneer Chilli Cigars

• Mayur oil for deep-frying

• 1 tbsp Mayur maida 

• 5 samosa pattis

• chilli garlic sauce

🔷 Method

🔷 For the filling

1. Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the spring onions and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.

2. Add all the remaining ingredients, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute.

3. Divide the filling into equal portions and keep aside.

🔷 How to proceed

1.Combine the plain flour and 1 tbsp of water in a bowl and mix well. Keep aside.

2. Cut each samosa patti into 3 to get rectangular pieces. Place a portion of the filling at one corner of the samosa patti piece. Roll it up tightly starting from the end where the filling is placed to make a cigar.

3. Seal the edge of the samosa patti piece using a little of the plain flour-water paste.

4. Repeat for the remaining pattis and filling to make the rest of the cigars.

5. Heat the oil in a deep kadhai, deep-fry a few cigars on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. 

6. Drain on an absorbent paper.

7. Serve immediately with spicy sauce.
